Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Bengaluru South Tejasvi Surya hit out at Congress for hushing up Rameshwaram Cafe bomb blast earlier this month in Whitefield area, which falls under his Lok Sabha constituency.
He said, “Within 15-20 minutes, the Congress party ecosystem spread such news that there was a cylinder explosion at the Rameshwaram Cafe. I spoke to the owner and he categorically denied any cylinder blast.”
Surya said that CCTV footage shows that the blast happened in the customer eating area after a masked person’s bag started emitting smoke and ultimately exploded.
He added, “If we had not spread the word among the public, we don’t know what efforts the Karnataka government would have made to hush up all things,” pointing towards Congress leaders’ claim of business rivalry.
“They (Congress leaders) are watching Netflix very much. They are confusing Bengaluru restaurants with the Columbia cartel. Can there be something more hilarious than saying that bomb blast happened over idli-vada sales,” he said.
Surya highlighted the BJP’s efforts to get a National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) office in Bengaluru, that helped in transferring Rameshwaram cafe blast case quickly to the central probe agency.
He also attacked Congress for defending ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans raised at the Karnataka Vidhan Soudha after the election of Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain to the Rajya Sabha.
“When this news came out, eight ministers of this (Congress) government went on record that such sloganeering did not take place. Why cannot you let the authorities investigate?”, Surya questioned.
He also alleged that the Siddaramaiah-led government pressurised the police not to make the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report public, which confirmed that pro-Pakistan slogans were indeed raised.
The arrested individuals were arrested in the case. They have been identified as Ilthaz from Delhi, Munavar from Bengaluru, and Mohammed Shafi from Haveri, Karnataka.
